AC Installation Across Delaware County — Town by Town

We work out of one office on Concord Road in Aston, and our installation crews spend their days in the same towns they live in — Media, Springfield, Havertown, Drexel Hill, Upper Darby, Broomall, Swarthmore, Wallingford, Newtown Square, Glen Mills, Brookhaven, Ridley, Aston and Chester among them. We also cover southeastern Chester County and northern Delaware.

That matters more for an installation than it does for a repair. Housing stock here runs from 1920s stone twins in Lansdowne to split-levels in Ridley to newer construction in Garnet Valley, and each one needs a different answer for where the air handler goes and how the ductwork gets there. We have been in enough of these homes to know that before we quote it.

What to Look for in an AC Installer

A new air conditioner is a fifteen-year decision, and the install matters as much as the equipment. Here is what we would tell a neighbor to check before signing anything — and where we stand on each.

How long have they been here?

We opened in Aston in 1996 and never moved. Family owned and locally operated the whole time, and our neighbors have voted us Best of Delco every year since 2016.

Can you read their reviews?

All of them, not the three on a brochure. Our Google rating and review count are at the top of this page, and every review is public.

Who is actually coming to the house?

Our technicians are N.A.T.E. certified and our team is E.P.A. certified for proper refrigerant handling. We are fully insured, registered and licensed, and every employee is background checked and drug tested.

Do they size the system properly?

We run a load calculation on your home rather than matching whatever tonnage was there before. An oversized system short-cycles, cools unevenly and leaves the air damp; an undersized one never catches up on the worst days.

Do they pull the permit?

We do, on every job. All of our work is permitted to applicable township code, and we prepare the paperwork for any rebates you qualify for.

What happens after the install?

You get manufacturer equipment warranties, our workmanship behind the job, and a two-year extended service membership included with most installations. Financing is available for qualified customers through several lenders.

How a Delfera Installation Works

Four steps, and you will know what is happening at each one.

Our installation crew — the people who will be in your home on install day.

1. Free in-home estimate

We look at the house, not a catalog. Load calculation, a look at your existing ductwork and electrical, and a detailed price sheet so you can see exactly what each option includes before you decide.

2. Permits and scheduling

We pull the township permit and set an install date that works for you. If your system has already quit, tell us — we will get you on the calendar as fast as we can.

3. Installation day

Drop cloths and shoe covers, custom-fabricated metal transitions where they are needed, and the old equipment hauled away and recycled. We clean up before we leave.

4. Startup and walkthrough

We run a post-installation startup checklist, then walk you through the thermostat, the filter location and what maintenance the system needs. Warranty documents, manuals and rebate paperwork come with it.

Questions We Get About AC Installation

  • How much does a new air conditioner cost?

It depends on the size of your home, the efficiency of the system you choose, and what your existing ductwork and electrical need. We do not quote a new system over the phone, because a number given that way is usually wrong.

What we can promise: the in-home estimate is free, the price sheet is itemized so you can see what each option includes, and the price we quote is the price you pay. Financing is available for qualified customers.

  • How long does an AC installation take?

Most straightforward residential installations are finished in a single day — crews typically arrive in the morning and have the system running that afternoon. Jobs that involve an attic air handler, new duct transitions, or electrical work can run into a second day.

You will get the expected timeline in writing with your estimate, before you commit to anything.

  • Do I need a permit to replace my air conditioner?

In most Delaware County townships, yes. We pull it — all of our work is permitted to applicable township code, and we handle the inspection paperwork as part of the job. You do not need to call the township yourself.

  • What size system does my house need?

We answer that with a load calculation, not by matching the tonnage of the unit being replaced — that unit may have been the wrong size for fifteen years, or the house may have new windows and insulation since.

Sizing matters: an oversized air conditioner cools in short bursts, never runs long enough to pull humidity out of the air, and wears itself out cycling on and off.

  • Are there rebates or tax credits on a new system?

Often, yes — PECO offers rebates on qualifying equipment and there are Energy Star federal tax credits for certain high-efficiency systems. Amounts and eligibility change, so we will tell you what currently applies to the equipment you are considering and prepare the rebate documents for you.

  • What warranty comes with the installation?

You get the manufacturer’s equipment warranty on the system itself, and our work behind the installation. Most installations also include a two-year extended service membership, which covers the seasonal tune-ups that keep the equipment warranty valid.

Repairs carry a one-year parts and labor warranty.

  • Can you cool a house that has no ductwork?

Yes. Ductless mini-splits handle older Delco homes with radiators and no duct runs, finished attics, additions and converted porches. We will tell you at the estimate whether a mini-split, a central system, or a combination makes more sense for your layout.

Delco Homeowners on Their Installations

All of these are public Google reviews from customers who had a system installed.

“Rodger, Joe, and Matt did a great job installing my air conditioner and heater. A very clean operation, they were very caring of my house and my needs. They took extra time explaining how to maintain the temperature. I was very impressed by the company. I know I made the right decision going with them.”

— Michael B., Google review, July 2026

“From the first meeting through installation, Delfera proved to be trustworthy and reliable. The unit was installed in the attic under less than ideal conditions in just two days. The installers were all professional and friendly and clearly cared about their craftsmanship. Even when some tweaks were necessary, Delfera had their people there in record time and fixed the problem.”

— Daniel V., Google review, July 2026

“I stayed out of their way to let them work and I am blown away by the detail and craftsmanship. The pad outside at the condenser is level, the thermostat was level, and the furnace is clean. They took the old equipment with them too and left nothing behind. My home around my furnace and outside is cleaner than it was when they arrived.”

— Shawn H., Google review

“Gave me a fair estimate with no upselling on stuff I don’t need or want. He was upfront with the price and detailed price sheet so I knew what everything would cost. The installers arrived at 8:45am and completed installing a new heater and cleaning up some old duct work by 1:30pm. Professional service from everyone.”
